Collection: Folkestone Limited Edition, Giclee Prints

Folkestone Illustrations

I like to draw the scenes that have moments for me personally. Having grown up here there is so much consistancy, to go along with the change. Thats what's so beautiful about the town. My Limited Edition work are the truest form of my illustration. The scale, the paper, the printing technique. All things I have researched, got wrong and got right over the many years of producing and printing art work. My history and education comes in physical print rooms, etching and screen printing.

My work is still made on these principles. just digitally. Each line of shape in my work is drawn by my very hand, either with a mouse or my fingers on a track pad. I came our of my fine art degree and had no physical room to produce the scale of work I was doing. I learnt new things inside computers like Photoshop (it was 2005) focusing on the weight of line and compostion, use of colour as I had done when etching in the print studios. Eventually I discovered illustrator.

In 20 years  I never updated the technical process of how I make my marks dispite the advances in digital art making. I don't use ipad or drawing tablets, I don't use autocorrecting line tools or the like, and I certainly never, and will never use AI in my art work.

My work is anchored in the physical and executed through early digital practices.

My Limited EDITION works are limited to 25 editions. Online they come unframed, but you can buy them framed at the hut down the harbour. Each one is 20"x20" (easier to frame) Giclee print, hand-signed & numbered. (And if local, hand-delivered)

The print has a flat matt finish upon a textured paper. The colours and line between are as clean and crisp as you will get.
