When you think of Folkestone what do you think first? It better be fishing? Bet it wasn't!

The first in the series 'Oh Buoy' explores the relevance of the harbour in a historical and contemporary narrative. The working fishing harbour is an integral part of the history. That fancy fish dinner being served up beachside, let's hope it came from one of these boats huh!

The beauty of Folkestone is clear for every tourist and local Instagrammer in the town to capture, oh and it is. But sometimes, whilst we all desperately scramble to anchor or create personas linked to the energy of the town, the history and context slowly erodes like orange rust from our focus.

The beauty in the town is in its mix of old and new. The duration of people, old and new. But how often is the new design for the old? Not often. The old however is left to fall down and crumble into the sea as the sun sets and a new dawns approach.

This work requires you to look deeper than face value. To explore the image.
