I have lived in Folkestone all of my life, give or take years at Uni. Art has always been there for me, and i spend my time flicking between drawing Folkestone scenes using my laptop, and making messy paintings in my Folkestone studio. My Work as That Folkestone Artist, has always been about showcasing our twon in eyes that have seen it through change. One's with stories and background to the visuals I represent. I don't owe the town anything, unlike other artists.

As an artist I find myself creating experiences that are closer to the perfomance than the conceptual. Art. Viewing art and buying art is a nuanced process. Some establishments 'freeze' out an audience, and others actively encourage that. TFA is a responce to making art accessible to everyone. Which is why you will find my work both originals Giclee Prints and Posters priced at a point more conversations can happen.

Change is an important factor in my work. Familiarity is what changes the first day of your holiday to the last day of your holiday. That sense of knowing where you are. Places look different. the first time You see them, and the 10,000 time you see them. My work is a longer appertiure on the area, not a quick snap of something pretty.

Its the energy, the sea air, the people, the chronic sarcasm, the energy from the earth, the BBQ's on the beach, the sticky floors. It's Folkestone. It's always been so.
