Collection: Underneath The Arches

A series of studies of place, time and tide, showcasing shifting perspectives, capturing moments otherwise lost to the tides. Using the arches along Folkestone's Sunny Sands, along Coronation Parade, Each arch is to be documented, capturing its 'fingerprint' like uniqueness, as well as the vista it naturally captures.

As part of my open studio and exhibition for Open Art Folkestone '24

Coronation Parade

Sunny Sands

Coronation Parade was built in the late 1930sas a series of concrete arches and a promenade with retaining wall to the rear. The structure stops the cliff from eroding and protects a significant number of homes and businesses.

Used for the past 100 years as a place for privacy, reflection and shelter from the brutal channel winds.
